Patron Memberships are welcomed…
Remember ~ you don’t have to be an artist to support the arts
About PAA
PAA was formally organized in 1970, when a group of artistically minded people came together to promote all phases of art on the Long Beach Peninsula. The membership is composed of participating artists in all fields of art, as well as patrons and those interested in encouraging and developing local cultural endeavors.
The association meets monthly, except July and August, to carry on the business of the group. Presentations and demonstrations are often done and all are welcomed to attend. A monthly newsletter notifies the membership of current art shows, calls for artists, art events, volunteer requests and PAA business. PAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
PAA has two annual shows, Spring and Fall. A third Summer Festival was added in 2008, as was a peninsula wide Studio Tour, held on Thanksgiving weekend. July brings the Starving Artists Sale and the big chalk handout during the 4th of July Parade. Member artwork is displayed throughout the peninsula via the “Art Around Town” program. Many PAA members also participate as volunteers in a variety of art and education related activities throughout the community.
A General Membership meeting is held the third Tuesday of every month with the exceptions of July & August. Additionally, our December 4, 2012 Christmas Party takes the place of a general meeting that month.
Meetings are open to the public and include a business meeting after which refreshments are offered with a program following…the program is usually hands on and lots of fun.
